Soaring Spirit Aboriginal Festival

First Published:

Today’s wet weather put a damper on many events taking place across the region most notably in Hamilton the rain affected the final day of the Soaring Spirit Aboriginal Festival.

The free community event held its weekend long celebration at Pier 4 for the first year time in its near 20 year existence.

Even though the weather did not co-operate for people turning out for the final pow wow of the those involved saw the rain in a different light.

The aim of the festival is not only to celebrate indigenous culture in the Hamilton region but to educate others as well, with the hopes of improving community relations.
