Celebrations and ceremonies are taking place across the country to celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day. A day to honour the heritage of First Nation, Inuit and Métis people.

On this special day many communities across the country are participating in Aboriginal Sunrise ceremonies, including one in Hamilton.  Sunrise ceremonies are among some of the oldest rituals of Canada’s First Nations.

Large posters on the second floor of city hall, profiling some of the leaders within the Aboriginal community are also on display as part of National Aboriginal month.
