Heat warning still in effect today

First Published:

A heat warning remains in effect across the golden horseshoe and throughout Southern Ontario.

The medical officer of health initiated a heat warning for Hamilton yesterday and it will continue today. A heat warning is issued when two or more consecutive days reach a daytime high of 31 degrees or higher.

Seniors, children and people with medical conditions are at risk in this weather. Also, make sure your pets have plenty of water, and keep them off hot pavement.

During a heat warning, public swims at Hamilton pools are free.

You are advised to limit your time outdoors or try and sit in the shade to cool down.
