Early morning fire rips through Burlington home

A Burlington home has sustained extensive damage after a fire broke out early Thursday morning.

Fire crews were called to the home on George St. around 3 a.m.

The house was complete engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on scene and the roof had collapsed.

Crews used a defensive attack to get the fire under control.

No one was home at the time of the blaze and no injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office has been called in to investigate due to the amount of damage to the home.

George St. between Woodward Ave. and Courtland Dr. has been closed while crews remain on scene.
