Trio charged with possession of $50K worth of stolen ski jackets

First Published:

Three people are facing charges after police recovered more than $50,000 worth of ski jackets that had been stolen from an Oakville ski shop.

Halton police say a man and woman stole three ski jackets valued at $1,800 from Corbett’s Ski and Snowboards shop at 120 Speers Rd. on Dec. 29.

Police launched an investigation and issued a warrant for the arrest of 37-year-old Alicia Campbell.

On Monday, police were called back to the ski shop after a man and woman used a commercial van to break in around 3:30 a.m.

Police say the couple stole rough $50,000 worth of high-end ski jackets and fled before officers arrives on scene.

Two days later, police were at the Monte Carlo Inn on South Service Rd. East for an unrelated investigation when they spotted two people trying to escape the building through a window.

Police allege the man and woman were both wearing jackets that were stolen from the ski shop.

A third person was also arrested.

Officers subsequently executed a search warrant and seized several other jackets.

Alicia Campbell, 37, Christopher Hall, 37, and Martine Thompson, 36, are facing charges including possession of property obtained by crime.

Anyone who may have additional information about this investigation is asked to contact Halton Regional Police Detective Constable John McMullan at 905-825-4747, ext. 2217.
