Patrick Brown launches new campaign

First Published:

Patrick Brown officially launched his PC leadership campaign today in Mississauga. A crowd of supporters heard that Brown is the PC party’s rightful leader, and the only one that can defeat Kathleen Wynne.

Brown was forced out of the PC party’s top spot after sexual misconduct allegations against him surfaced last month.

He has re-applied for his old job and today as he launched his campaign, he addressed the elephant in the room.

Brown says the two anonymous women who came forward to CTV News fabricated their stories, and may have been manipulated by his political enemies.

CTV News continues to stand by the report.

Many of Browns supporters who gathered at the Hilton in Mississauga today say they do not believe the sexual misconduct allegations made against him.

Brown says he has cleared his name, and has received overwhelming support from Ontarians. He says its too late in the game for a new PC party leader with a new platform.

In his speech, Brown promised a 12% reduction on hydro bills, a 75% child care refund and the largest mental health investment in provincial history.

To the other candidates running against him, Brown said they must stand united because their common goal is to defeat Kathleen Wynne.
