Home Invasion in Hamilton Mountain

First Published:

Three people were shot during a violent home invasion on the Hamilton Mountain on Friday.

A woman and two teenage boys were struck with bullets when shots were fired it is not the only incident this week worrying neighbours.

It is generally a quiet housing complex on Upper Wentworth near Rymal.

One woman who lives in the home was shot multiple times in the chest, neck and arm. She says she was hit by pellets. Doctors were not able to remove some of the shards because they are in dangerous locations.
Her 18 year old son and his friend were also shot. All of the victims are expected to be ok.

The woman says she was sleeping, and her son had some of his friends over. Suddenly, the front door was kicked in, and young men with guns were trying to enter.

The woman came downstairs and was shot. One shot hit the wall in their hallway. Their front door, which still has blood on it, was smashed.

One of the young men who was shot says he does not know the attackers, but thinks they made have seen on social media that he was having friends over.

The boy’s mom said they have had expensive running shoes stolen from their home before. Police say this was a targeted attack.

Residents in this town house complex are still reeling with tragic news from earlier this week, across the street from the shooting is where neighbours say Holly Hamilton lived. The young mother was stabbed to death, after being reported missing by her family. Her ex-boyfriend, and the father of her daughter has been charged with second degree murder.

These incidents have neighbours on edge.

“Its scary, I mean, I’m scared. She was 29 years old, and I would see the boyfriend and I thought nothing of it. I thought they were a cute couple. I didn’t know the rest” said a neighbour.

Holly Hamilton’s viewing will be held on Friday at P.X. Dermody Funeral Home on Upper Gage from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.

On a Facebook post, Holly Hamilton’s brother says the viewing is open to all who would like to pay their respects, but the funeral ceremony, on an unknown date will be for family only.
