4-month-old baby fighting for her life after a ‘grievous assault’ in Toronto

First Published:

A four-month-old baby girl is fighting for her life and an injured woman is under arrest in hospital after a violent altercation at a condo building in west Toronto.

3 people were involved, the 4 month old baby, who is in critical condition, a man who was stabbed and a woman who has been arrested. Police won’t comment on the relationship between the three people.

The call came in around 8:30 am from a condo building about an injured man and baby. The baby girl was rushed to Sick Kids hospital. Police had initially said she was stabbed, but later clarified she was assaulted in another manner but wouldn’t say what caused those injuries. The man is expected to be ok.

Police say they found the man and baby inside the lobby of the condo building but say the incident happened somewhere else. There are 2 or 3 different scenes that they’re now investigating. The injured woman they believe to be responsible was found a short time later, she’s under arrest in hospital. Police wouldn’t say what type of injuries she suffered but say they were non life threatening.
