Edwards-Young was a grade seven student at Erin Mills Middle School. A letter sent home today said he was “a well liked student” and “a valuable member of our school community.”

Three other people in the Mercedes survived the crash, including a seven-year-old girl.. She’s in hospital in stable condition.

A 25-year old woman is fighting for her life and the 24-year old man at the wheel of the Mercedes suffered only minor injuries.

The driver of the Mazda, a 40 year old man, was also killed.

Police say he lost control of his car and crossed the road’s centre line before crashing head-on into the Mercedes.

peel police are looking into whether high speed — or impairement — may have played a role in the crash… they haven’t been able to say if the occupants of the mercedes are members of the same family.
