Preparing for a possible LCBO strike

First Published:

The union representing LCBO workers set up a strike headquarters in Toronto today as they move quickly towards a Monday morning deadline. There has never been a strike in the LCBO’s 91-year history, but plans are being made if workers do decide to walk.

At Starsky’s they’ve been preparing for a while and if the LCBO workers do go on strike it won’t be that hard to get your hands on alcohol. Obviously the Beer Store for beer and grocery stores like Starsky’s you can find beer and whine on their shelves but finding the hard stuff will be tricky.

That’s where the LCBO agency stores come into play. There are at least 9 of them spread out in Hamilton, Halton, and Niagara. The LCBO has said that managers will try to keep the stores and distribution centres open.

Some LCBO stores have extended their hours this weekend and will be open at 9 am and close at 11 pm, closing at 6 on Sunday.
