The Ontario Legislature is on summer break and the next election is one year away… So what are party leaders doing now?

Campaigning of course.

The Premier of Ontario started her work day at The Mustard Seed Co-op in Hamilton.

“We wanted to come to talk about the fair workplace, better jobs plan that we are putting in place.”

She then played table games at a senior’s centre in Burlington, and by afternoon she was visiting a Mosque in Milton, where worshippers were observing Ramadan.

PC Leader Patrick Brown spent the day in his Barrie-area constituency, but his 7 new campaign-style ads are already airing across the Province.

The leader of the NDP says The Liberals have an unfair advantage, as the governing party, in the year leading up to an election, and she points at your hydro bill as an example. Most hydro bills now have a line to explain that the government is providing an 8% rebate.

“This is coming at the cost of taxpayers. It’s going to happen until the next election. Every time you get a hydro bill you’re going to be reminded about the government’s hydro plan.”

Andrea Horwath was in Hamilton speaking to media and getting started on her campaign.

“We’re putting a vision out there for people because we believe The Liberals have done enough damage in Ontario.”

When the provincial election is held next June 7th The Liberals will have been in power for 15 years.
