Critical need for blood

First Published:

Today is blood donation day and the Canadian Blood Service says it’s in critical need of blood ahead of what normally is a busy season when it comes to emergencies.

“It can be anyone from a car crash victim to a cancer patient to a blood disorder patient, so just rememeber that you’re saving someone’s life.” And one donation could help as many as three people.

Canadian Blood Services is looking for 150 000 donors by July 1st, Canada’s 150th birthday. So far they say they’re about 50 000 donors short.

You can quicken the donation process by downloading the Canadian Blood Services app where you can book your appointment that day, fill in the survey beforehand and go straight to the medical test site.
