Actor Adam West, better known as TV’s Batman, has died at age 88.

Family members say west died last night after a short battle with leukemia.

West’s straight-faced portrayal of the comics superhero brought the Caped Crusader into the public consciousness with the campy 1960s series.

West found the role left him largely typecast although he also said he was pleased to have played it.

The original 1966 hit TV show Batman will be back this fall right here on CHCH.
