A 23 year old woman from Toronto is facing 6 counts of criminal mischief after she climbed up a construction crane in downtown Toronto Wednesday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at around 4 am, after the woman was spotted on a pulley about 12-storeys in the air.  Fire crews believe she climbed up the crane, crawled out onto the end of it and slid down a cable to the pulley device, where she got stuck.

A firefighter had to climb to the top of the crane, rappel down and then strap a harness to her before the two were lowered to the ground.

The woman was handcuffed before being placed in an ambulance and taken to hospital in stable condition.

Why she decided to climb the crane in the first place, that remains a mystery.
