A frantic search for a dog lost after being put on the wrong WestJet flight has come to a welcome end.

With help from the public, rescue teams were able to surround Cooper, the one and half year old labradoodle, at a fenced in area on the Hamilton airport grounds around 9 Friday morning.

Cooper was placed on the wrong WestJet flight Wednesday night landing him in Hamilton, when he should have been in Deer Lake, Newfoundland. He later escaped when an employee took him out for a short walk.

After his reunion, Cooper was brought to the Ancaster Animal hospital and is going to be just fine. In a statement WestJet says they say they’ll be covering the vet bill and work on getting them back home as soon as they’re rested.

As for how Cooper ended up on the wrong flight, the airlines says they are still not sure, but they will be reviewing their policies to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
