Man, 67, dead after head-on crash in Binbrook

First Published:

A 67-year-old Hamilton man has died after a head-on crash on Tuesday in Binbrook.

Police say the victim was driving eastbound on Binbrook Rd. in an infinity sedan when he lost control of his car. The man swerved into the westbound lane and collided an oncoming Ford truck.

The victim was taken to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The 32-year-old driver of the truck was treated on scene.

Investigators say speed and alcohol have been ruled out but road and weather conditions may have played a part in the crash. Police say other factors are also being investigated.

A postmortem is scheduled for Wednesday morning.

This is the fifth death on city roads in 2017.
