Premier Wynne was speaking at Hamilton’s Liuna station Tuesday night, while protests were happening outside.

The Premier is expected to give the keynote address at the Hamilton Trillium dinner but skilled-trade workers were gathered outside to protest a proposed omnibus bill that they believe could threaten jobs. Certified electricians, plumbers and pipe fitters feel that Bill 70 will alter their scope of practice. They say that the bill, specifically Section 17 would remove the requirement of a certified worker to perform certain tasks.  They’re concerned it could put both workers and the public at risk.
