Bob Dylan criticized as ‘impolite and arrogant’ by Nobel Academy Member

First Published:

A member from the Nobel Academy has criticized Bob Dylan as being “impolite” and “arrogant”.

Dylan, 75, was named the shock winner of the Nobel Prize, last week, but has yet to acknowledge the win in public.

The comments come after repeated efforts were made by the Swedish Academy to contact Dylan were unsuccessful.

Academy member Per Wastberg told Swedish television “He is who he is,” adding it wasn’t a surprise Dylan ignored the news.

A reference to the prize was dropped from the singer-songwriter’s website last week.

It is unknown whether or not Dylan will travel to Stockholm to personally receive the award, December 10.

Regardless, the ceremony will go ahead as planned according to Wastberg.
