Learning from legends

44 years ago team Canada battled the Soviet Union in the 1972 Summit Series. Classes and work were brought to a standstill across the country as team Canada, seemingly against all odds, came home victorious.

Members from that iconic team continue to share their story. Over 100 staff members from the Niagara Catholic District school board got a lesson on leadership today. As part of the program students in grade 4 to 6 will learn the historical legacy of the Summit Series, which took place during the Cold War and who better to teach that lesson than the 1972 team.
