A man is dead, following a single vehicle crash in Milton last night.

It happened on Steeles Avenue, west of Martin Street just before eight. Halton police say a car travelling west on Steeles, crashed into a ditch. The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.

Police have not confirmed if the wet and slippery conditions from the rain was a factor in the crash. Police say a man offered assistance and may have witnessed the collision, but left the scene before EMS arrived. They are asking this man to contact police, to shed some light on the crash.
