401 crash leads to attempted murder probe

The OPP have launched an attempted murder investigation following an early morning incident on the 401 near Puslinch.

Police say around 5:30 am, officers stopped a car driving the wrong way on the 401 west of Highway 6 South. The driver attempted to flee, crashing into a fully marked OPP cruiser.

Investigators say prior to that incident the same driver had been involved in an earlier collision that sent a person to hospital.

The westbound lanes of the 401 at Puslinch remain closed until the investigation is complete.
