13 Target stores across Canada were set to close Sunday including the store on Appleby Line in Burlington.

The discount retail chain racked up billions in losses since opening a couple of years ago.

The company lost almost $2 billion in two years and pulled the plug in January.

The store on Appleby Line is one of 13 in this batch of closures. Others include Oshawa, Kitchener and Niagara Falls.

The company plans to have all locations shuttered by May.
