St. Joseph’s is closing an east-end psychiatry clinic as a way to cut costs and balance the hospital’s budget.
This means the services at the King street east location will merge with St. Joe’s West 5th psychiatric hospital. The news comes just days after St. Joseph’s announced $26-million worth of cuts to balance its $550-million budget.
Hospital officials tell CHCH news they know there will be savings, but they don’t have a dollar value, yet. They hope to begin the transition by the summer.
